Using Glow in the Dark Material for Emergency
Evacuation Guideance
Glow in the Dark materials can be a great addition to a "lights out"
evacuation guidance system. It is not appropriate or adequate to use
this as your only lighting system and is far from a replacement for proper
battery powered exit signs.
It is best used to mark the edges of stairs or to define a walkway
through a warehouse.
The following analysis was written by the United States Federal
Aviation Administration regarding the testing and usefulness of both Zinc
Sulfide and Earth Aluminate glow in the dark technologies as emergency
evacuation enhancements.
